Your next role as a Miracle Maker
Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #Miracle Maker to join our Finance team as Director, Financial Reporting. In this role, you will lead technical accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in shaping our financial strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing financial systems to support our continued growth.
As the Director, you will partner with executive leadership to align financial reporting with business objectives, oversee financial processes, and implement best practices that enhance efficiency and transparency. How you will make an impact:
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and evolving accounting standards by developing, implementing, and documenting key policies while overseeing financial reporting, SEC compliance, and SOX regulations.
- Strengthen internal controls, remediate deficiencies, and enhance data processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and authorization of financial information.
- Oversee financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate monthly and year-end reporting while maintaining reconciled balance sheets.
- Draft and review financial statement disclosures, ensuring transparency and regulatory compliance.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, consultants, and third-party service providers, coordinating audits and regulatory filings.
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to align financial reporting with business strategy and provide insights for decision-making.
- Lead process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and internal controls.
- Oversee financial systems, ERP optimization, and data security across platforms to ensure efficient reporting and compliance.
- Provide technical accounting expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), and complex transactions.
- Collaborate with FP&A and cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Legal) to align reporting with budgeting, forecasting, and revenue contract treatment.
- Monitor key financial metrics, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and support long-term financial planning and scenario analysis.
- Develop, mentor, and lead accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team culture.
The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification required.
- 15+ years of experience in finance, with a mix of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
- Expertise in US GAAP, SEC reporting, internal controls, and financial due diligence.
- Experience leading financial close processes, external audits, and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, with NetSuite experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Effective leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to drive process improvements, influence change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing and mentoring teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $184,000 - $196,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
