Your next role as a Miracle Maker 

Alphazyme, a Maravai LifeSciences company, is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Facilities team as a Laboratory Associate I. As a Laboratory Associate I you will support the day-to-day operations of the company’s laboratories, including R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality Control environments. This role ensures a clean, well-stocked, and functional laboratory by performing solution formulation, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and general laboratory upkeep. A successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, fulfilling internal and customer product demands while supporting compliance and quality standards.

How you will make an impact:

  • Prepare finished and semi-finished product formulations to support internal inventory levels and make-to-order customer needs.
  • Formulate buffers and solutions for both internal use and external requests.
  • Label, dispense, and package products according to customer specifications and internal stocking configurations.
  • Follow established work instructions and maintain accurate documentation to support quality and traceability standards.
  • Ensure adherence to company quality standards and applicable certifications (e.g., GMP, ISO 13485).
  • Collaborate with Quality Control and R&D teams to support sample preparation, material transfer, and troubleshooting of formulation-related issues.
  • Clean and sterilize glassware using dishwasher, handwashing, and autoclave techniques as appropriate.
  • Conduct daily lab walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, equipment, and supply levels.
  • Restock lab supplies and refill water carboys to ensure uninterrupted lab operations.
  • Perform routine cleaning of lab equipment and floors; assist with periodic tasks such as freezer defrosting.
  • Conduct basic equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Support additional lab functions and special projects as required.

 The skills and experience that you will bring: 

  • High school Diploma with 1+ years of experience in a scientific industry, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in a GMP or ISO 13485 regulated lab environment preferred.
