Safety Director

Department: Safety

Reports To: President or Chief Operating Officer

Direct Reports: Safety Coordinators (future growth), Safety Committee Members (functional leadership)

FLSA Status: Exempt

Travel: Approximately 50%

Position Summary

The Safety Director develops, implements, and leads the Company's comprehensive safety strategy across all branch locations. This role ensures compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations while fostering a culture where every employee returns home safely each day. The position partners with operations and executive leadership to reduce risk, improve safety performance, and build accountability across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership
• Develop and execute the Company's strategic safety program.
• Promote a proactive safety culture.
• Establish annual safety goals and KPIs.

Compliance
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DOT, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain safety policies and reporting.

Field Operations
• Conduct jobsite inspections and audits.
• Assist project teams with safety planning.

Incident Management
• Lead investigations and corrective actions.

Training & Development
• Deliver company-wide safety training and orientation.

Fleet & Equipment
• Oversee PPE, vehicle safety, inspections.

Risk Management & Reporting
• Partner with leadership, analyze trends, develop monthly scorecards.

Qualifications

Required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years construction/commercial mechanical safety.
• 3+ years leadership.

Preferred
• CSP, CHST, OSHA 500, First Aid/CPR Instructor, DOT experience.
