About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, senior BSA/AML professional to serve as the BSA/AML Compliance Officer for Figure Markets’s US and potentially foreign jurisdictions which includes oversight over several entities, such as a registered MSB, a licensed broker dealer and an investment advisor. As the BSA/AML Compliance Officer you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining Figure Markets’ US BSA/AML Program to ensure the company complies with BSA, AML, and OFAC regulatory requirements. 

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain BSA/AML Programs to ensure the company complies with all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Build, lead and manage a team of qualified individuals that will help ensure all BSA/AML requirements are met, including but not limited to OFAC screening, CDD/beneficial ownership, transaction monitoring, and filing SARs.Advise and train product and operations teams to ensure we build products and processes that comply with BSA/AML/OFAC requirements.
  • Draft and maintain policies and procedures; build a BSA/AML training program, conduct annual risk assessments, and coordinate annual independent reviews of the program.
  • Partner with and work seamlessly across several departments to ensure all stakeholders are aware of our obligations as a registered broker-dealer and financial institution under the BSA, including the legal and compliance teams.

What We Look For

  • 10+ years of BSA/AML experience at a payments provider and/or exchange
  • Certified Anti-money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) 
  • Expert knowledge and experience in ensuring compliance with AML regulations at the federal, international and state levels including FATF compliance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience building and supervising a team of BSA/AML analysts and investigators.
  • Experience with transaction monitoring and investigation activities
  • Experience with blockchain regulations surrounding virtual currency, virtual currency exchanges and digital assets.
  • Experience with the development of AML Compliance Risk Management standards and policies.  
  • Experience with financial services products including lending products, investment company interests, and digital asset securities.
  • Experience having direct discussions with auditors and regulators during examinations including inspections and licensing presentations.  
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

The salary range is $154,000 - $192,000 with up to a 25% Bonus and Equity. Actual compensation may vary based on individual candidate experience and location.
