EMEA Region Accountant

As part of our EMEA Finance team, the Accountant will support our EMEA operations across legal entities in Ireland, Poland, Sweden and Israel.  This role will support managing financial processes in compliance with the varying accounting standards and tax regulations in these countries, while ensuring accurate and timely VAT reporting. This role contributes to the success of our global, fast-growing manufacturing company.

 

What will you own:

  • Assist with the month-end close process, which include preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, ad-hoc analyses, and trial balance reviews for the EMEA region
  • Participate in daily accounting operations for our legal entities in Ireland, Poland, Sweden, and Israel, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations for various accounts, including (but not limited to) cash, fixed assets, deferred revenue, and various other liability accounts
  • Analyse and critically assess transactions to determine appropriate treatment based on company accounting policies
  • Support VAT filings and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Collaborating with regional finance teams and external auditors to ensure financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and internal controls
  • Contributing to financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning initiatives with a focus on the “big picture”
  • Record the cost of newly acquired fixed assets, track existing fixed assets, and record depreciation and disposition of fixed assets
  • Supporting ongoing process improvements to streamline operations and ensure consistency across entities
  • Any other duties as reasonably required

 

What you have:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with accounting and tax regulations with at least one of the EU countries outside of Poland
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations in the EMEA region
  • Demonstrable accounting experience, ideally with exposure to multinational entities
  • Strong background and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage and meet deadlines
  • A proven team player with a collaborative style and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • The ability to interact and manage both internal and external stakeholders
  • You will have a flexible attitude with proven ability to multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities
  • Experience with Sage X3 or similar ERP systems is highly desirable
  • Fluent in English (C1 level); proficiency in additional languages relevant to the EMEA region (Polish, Swedish, Hebrew, etc.) is a plus
  • CA, ACCA or similar professional designation, or active pursuit of one, is a plus
