💰 PAY: $31.98 / HOUR

 

The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator monitors and manages security systems and technologies to protect personnel, property, and assets. This role serves as the central point for security monitoring, alarm response, and communications during both routine operations and emergency situations.

The GSOC Operator maintains continuous surveillance of security systems, coordinates response to incidents, and documents all security-related activities. This position requires technical proficiency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure while following established protocols and procedures.

CORE OBJECTIVES

  1. Maintain vigilant monitoring of all security systems to ensure early detection of potential security threats or incidents.
  2. Respond to alarms, alerts, and emergency situations according to established protocols with speed and accuracy.
  3. Serve as the central communications hub during security incidents, coordinating information flow between field personnel, management, and external agencies.
  4. Document all security events, incidents, and activities with thorough and accurate reporting.
  5. Ensure compliance with all security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain proficiency with evolving security technologies and systems.
  7. Support a culture of security awareness and excellence across the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Monitoring & Response

  • Monitor access control systems, CCTV, alarm systems, and other security technologies.
  • Respond to security alarms and alerts according to established protocols and procedures.
  • Dispatch security personnel to investigate and address security incidents.
  • Coordinate emergency response during critical incidents, including communication with external agencies.

Communications & Reporting

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security communications across the organization.
  • Maintain clear, concise radio and telephone communications with security personnel.
  • Document all security incidents, activities, and shift events in appropriate logs and systems.
  • Prepare detailed incident reports for management review and follow-up.

Technical Operations

  • Operate integrated security management systems, including access control and video surveillance platforms.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of security systems and coordinate with technical support as needed.
  • Monitor environmental and life safety systems, including fire alarms and emergency notification systems.
  • Maintain awareness of system status and report malfunctions promptly.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate logs of all activities, visitor management, and key control.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with access management, including badge issuance and access level assignments.
  • Support security audits and assessments by providing required documentation and information.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Security Experience

  • 1+ years of experience in security operations, preferably in a GSOC environment
  • Experience with integrated security management systems
  • Background in emergency response or public safety preferred
  • Understanding of physical security principles and practices

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with security management systems (e.g., LenelS2, Genetec, Avigilon)
  • Experience with CCTV monitoring and video management systems
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Familiarity with emergency notification systems

Credentials & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred
  • Active BSIS Guard Card
  • Emergency response certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid) preferred
  • Security certifications (e.g., ABCHS GSOC Operator) a plus

Communication Skills

  • Clear and concise verbal communication abilities
  • Strong written communication skills for reports and documentation
  • Ability to remain calm and communicate effectively during emergencies
  • Experience with radio protocols and professional communications
