Training & Compliance Specialist 

 

The training and compliance specialist role requires the candidate to be proficient in the developing and auditing processes. The training and compliance specialist will be responsible for assisting in the curation of policies and strategies as well as effectively transferring this knowledge to employees. The role also includes administrative duties to ensure the portfolio stays current with training required from both Marksman Security and the client. The role involves high proficiency in some soft skills such as communication, organizational abilities, proficiency in facilitation, and strong interpersonal skills, as it involves liaising with different stakeholders, internally and externally.

Objectives:

  • Monitoring the current policies and systems in place and ensuring that it complies with Marksman and client contractual requirements.
  • Collaborate with site level trainers and Client Training team on audit and training requirements, so there is no ambiguity in the compliance and risk for the jobs that they perform.
  • Learn, unlearn, and relearn the dynamic changing ecosystem of compliance and training.
  • Report to and liaise with the VP, RDOs, Program Support, and client representatives to make decisions based on the guidance received by them.
  • Curate and maintain control systems to identify and handle breaking of rules and any violations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the business processes that involve compliance and training for the portfolio.
  • Take timely actions to ensure compliance and training along with internal policies of the Marksman and Client.
  • Develop training content including but not limited to videos, presentations and training curriculum learning management system.
  • Make reports and documentation on potential compliance risks, as a compliance and training specialist.
  • Establish and carry out proper training programs, so that the employees are aware of audits and training they need to adhere to.
  • Collaborate with other leadership to carry out investigations to find gaps in the current strategies, which involve compliance and training, and rectify them as per the regulatory guidelines.
  • Report to and work closely with the Regulatory Compliance and Audit Manager to assess, develop, and maintain site regulatory compliance through training, content creation, and learning management systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, business administration, criminal justice, or a similar discipline, and/or comparable experience within the industry.
  • Prior experience working as a compliance manager, training manager or in a similar position.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Exposure to curating, executing, and monitoring compliance and training projects.
  • 2 years of similar experience management, risk management or auditing.
  • 1 year of Data Center experience ● Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Maintain high personal integrity
  • Report to and liaise with the VP, RDOs, Regulatory Compliance and Audit Manager, and client representatives to make decisions based on the guidance received by them.
  • Ability to delegate and build other talents
  • Ability to strategically plan
  • Excellent presentation and organizational skills
  • Contain solution focused and problem-solving skills
  • High ability to accept and lead change
  • Timely follow up and follow through
  • Ability to utilize computer software to develop, present, and maintain training programs and exude technological proficiency.
  • Exposure to curating, executing, and monitoring training projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of walking while traveling to sites to conduct training.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or more so for exigent circumstances.
