Compliance Analyst, Issue & Audit Management

As Marqeta’s Compliance Analyst, Issue and Audit Management you will be the  key individual contributor position within Marqeta’s Compliance department. The agile, data-driven, and service-minded group you’ll be joining is dedicated to navigating Marqeta and our Programs through the complex regulatory landscape with precision and agility. 

This position will support the implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of the enterprise-wide regulatory issue management and remediation program and related processes. In addition, this position will support Marqeta’s audit and exam management processes and performance reporting. 

This role will be performed in a hybrid work model (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite) from our Warsaw office. We’d love for you to join us!

The Impact You’ll Have

  • Provide effective review, coordination, documentation, validation, and resolution for regulatory remediation initiatives across Marqeta, including creating an action plan, correction, redress, and validation 
  • Act as an advisor and provide guidance to business and infrastructure functions, as well as coordinate the collection of data and information relevant to the case
  • Apply laws and regulations to the issue fact pattern to determine potential exceptions or violations
  • Prepare and review regulatory responses as necessary or appropriate
  • Ensure that regulatory remediation programs clearly articulate risk reduction and demonstrate an enhanced control environment with evidence of design and operational effectiveness
  • Responsible for active stakeholder engagement by ensuring close collaboration with key stakeholders across the Marqeta and working closely with the Legal team and other subject matter experts on relevant regulatory remediation efforts
  • Conduct targeted validations and reviews on controls over applicable regulations
  • Active involvement with Bank Partners and customers
  • Assist with the coordination and management of audits and regulatory exams, including ensuring responses are thorough, timely, and accurate
  • Assist with the development of audit and exam performance reports
  • Assist with other projects as assigned

Who You Are

  • 1-2+ years of regulatory compliance experience, preferably in financial services or other highly regulated fields
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cross-functional working relationships
  • Knowledge of bank and/or payments laws, regulations, rules, guidance, and filing requirements
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technology skills; ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities in a logical manner
  • Familiar with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, when needed

Nice-To-Haves

  • Prior experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL Server, Salesforce).
  • Prior experience with Google’s Looker Studio or other data visualization tools
  • Prior role focused on regulatory examinations, audits, and/or issue management
