💼 About the Role
We are hiring a Portfolio Growth Director to own demand generation and sales optimization across all portfolio companies in our venture studio. You will work directly with CEOs, diagnose growth bottlenecks, and ensure predictable pipeline growth and conversion improvements.
This is not a theory role. You will lead strategy, implement through others, and push meaningful change. Each portfolio company is effectively an “account” and you will bring agency-level execution discipline to a startup environment.
You will report directly to studio leadership and collaborate closely with Matt Verlaque, founders, and shared growth resources.
🔍 What You'll Do
Portfolio-Wide Growth Leadership
- Audit each company’s growth engine including ads, content, funnels, sales calls, and conversion rates.
- Identify whether bottlenecks are in lead generation or conversion and fix them.
- Guide CEOs on execution while ensuring adherence to growth plans.
Push necessary change across marketing, sales, and positioning.
Standardization and Playbooks
- Standardize portfolio company metric reporting with a uniform deck template.
- Create and maintain growth playbooks for common growth projects.
- Run portfolio-wide marketing rhythms and performance reviews.
Ensure all technical and business hires follow the studio’s recruiting process with no shortcuts.
Execution and Team Enablement
- Oversee paid acquisition, copywriting, positioning, and sales process improvements.
- Manage shared growth resources such as freelancers, designers, and performance marketers.
- Implement through others without having to personally execute every campaign but ensuring quality and results.
🧠 What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Hybrid skill set including paid acquisition, copywriting, positioning, sales process, and account management.
- 7–10 years in progressive growth marketing roles.
- 3–5 years, specifically managing multiple accounts or companies at once
- Proven track record of scaling B2B SaaS revenue while improving CAC to LTV ratios.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify bottlenecks and measure impact.
- Excellent communication skills that command respect from founders and leadership teams.
- Comfortable pushing change instead of simply producing reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in startup studios, VC-backed startups, or growth agencies.
- Familiarity with product-led growth and hybrid SaaS models.
- Skilled in low-code tools, AI content platforms, and modern martech such as Webflow, HubSpot, GA4, and Mixpanel.
- Strong writing ability for ads, landing pages, and sequences that convert.
