THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Software Engineer with 2–4 years of professional experience who is eager to learn, take ownership, and build software that makes a real difference for customers. You'll help modernize a global software platform built on .NET/C#, React, and Microsoft Azure, while developing new experiences for connected medical dispensing devices, intelligent inventory management, and AI-powered applications. We are a small, collaborative engineering team that moves quickly, embraces AI-assisted development, and focuses on delivering working software that solves real customer problems. You'll have the opportunity to work across cloud services, web applications, connected devices, and AI-powered capabilities, gaining experience with modern architecture while helping shape the future of our products.

Our engineering team is modernizing how veterinary practices manage inventory, medications, and medical supplies. Recent and ongoing projects include:

  • Next-Generation Connected Devices: Building modern, offline-capable software for intelligent dispensing cabinets, backed by scalable cloud services.
  • AI-Powered Customer Experiences: Embedding intelligent assistants and natural-language capabilities directly into our products to make complex workflows easier.
  • Inventory Intelligence: Turning millions of daily inventory transactions into actionable insights, recommendations, and ultimately automated inventory management.
  • Modern Cloud Platform: Replacing legacy systems with scalable, event-driven services, APIs, and real-time device synchronization.
  • Connected Ecosystem: Building integrations that connect veterinary practice management systems, technology partners, and our products into a seamless experience.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and maintain software using C#/.NET, React, and modern cloud technologies.
  • Develop APIs, backend services, and event-driven systems that connect cloud applications, devices, and external partners.
  • Build intuitive user experiences for web applications and connected devices.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and problem-solving while maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Contribute to AI-powered product capabilities, including intelligent assistants, natural-language interfaces, and data-driven automation.
  • Deliver working software in small, iterative increments, collaborating closely with engineers, product, and customer-facing teams.
  • Help modernize legacy systems into scalable, maintainable cloud-native solutions.
  • Improve reliability and delivery through automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, learn from failures, and continuously improve our products and engineering practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and problem-solving.
  • Experience with C# and .NET.
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks (React preferred).
  • Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
  • Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and basic CI/CD workflows.
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and enthusiasm for using AI tools to improve software development.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take ownership of work, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively with others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or coding agents.
  • Exposure to LLMs, AI APIs, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, or IoT.
  • Experience with Electron or applications that interact with physical hardware.
