New Business Associate

New York

Overview

maslansky + partners is the leader and creator of Language Strategy®. We find the right words to make audiences listen, care, and act, based on a simple but powerful idea: when it comes to truly effective communications, it’s not what you say, it’s what they hear®. We are researchers, strategists, linguists, and behavioral scientists who spend our days helping the world's most influential and innovative organizations harness the power of language to shape opinion and change behavior.

Clients look to us for the words and message framing that will help them win. To lift a brand or improve a reputation. To reframe an issue, introduce a product, or restore trust. To navigate a crisis or simply have a bigger impact with whatever you are communicating.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Associate to serve as the operational backbone of our new business and growth efforts. This is a hands-on role where you will own the data, the outreach, the systems, and the follow-through that keeps our pipeline moving. You'll work directly with and in support of our Vice President of Client Services, with regular visibility to firm partners and leadership.

This is the right role for someone with a few years of BD or marketing operations experience who wants to apply those skills to helping us improve and optimize our approach to growing our presence in the marketplace. If you're energized by an opportunity where you have the freedom to help develop new ways of working, a strong belief in getting the details right, and a desire to make a significant impact on our organization, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and continuously improve our contact database and targeting lists, including researching, building, and maintaining prospect lists focused on executive decision-makers
  • Execute, analyze, and recommend improvements to email outreach campaigns using HubSpot
  • Track, organize, and report on new business activity
  • Identify and implement tools and workflows that improve how we target, reach, and track prospects
  • Coordinate the full meeting lifecycle, from scheduling and logistics through internal briefings and post-meeting follow-up; ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Support the development and updating of client-facing materials including capability decks, proposals, and info sheets, working closely with the Account Services Director and subject matter experts
  • Assist in planning and executing conference and event participation — research relevant opportunities, manage logistics, and ensure follow-up is captured
  • Participate in key account planning alongside the Account Services Director, helping to prioritize outreach and identify patterns across the pipeline

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • 3–5 years of experience in business development, marketing operations, client services, or a related field. Professional services or agency background preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience with HubSpot or comparable CRM and email marketing platforms
  • Comfort with AI tools and a genuine curiosity about applying them to improve new business efforts
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail; this role has a high volume of moving pieces and accuracy matters
  • Strong written communication skills; comfort drafting outreach copy and internal updates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • A scrappy, self-directed work style where you're comfortable operating without a fully defined playbook and are motivated by the opportunity to help build one

Four reasons to join the maslansky + partners team:

  1. Direct exposure to firm leadership and partners at a nationally recognized communications and Language Strategy consultancy
  2. The opportunity to professionalize a business development function from the ground up — your work will be visible and consequential
  3. A collaborative, intellectually rigorous environment where the quality of thinking is taken seriously
  4. A passionate, creative, and collaborative team

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
