Building Services Technician

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly? We’re looking for a skilled Building Services Technician to help ensure our community building, systems, and grounds are safe, functional, and beautifully maintained. From preventative maintenance to timely repairs, your work will directly support a welcoming and secure environment for all who live and work here.
This position is full-time, hourly, with the following schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm with rotating weekends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the property by painting common areas and apartments at turnover and as needed.
- Assist with maintenance of fire, life safety systems and equipment; respond to emergencies according to Mather policies and procedures.
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including grounds clean-up, snow removal and salting, maintain light fixtures.
- Perform/Assist in unlocks, room set-ups/tear downs, receiving/delivery of packages.
- Monitor the community through regular tours to ensure safety and security of residents, guests, and staff.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Identifies areas for improvement, proposes possible solutions, and participates in data collection and process changes as part of the Quality Assurance Process Improvement process.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in Senior Living
- Working knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, plumbing, elevator, and generators.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn work order system.
The hourly base wage range is a good faith estimate of the range Mather reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting. The actual hourly base wage paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, geographic location and market changes. The position is also eligible to participate in Mather benefit plans and Employee Appreciation Fund.
Hourly Pay Range
$25.75 - $28 USD
