Engagement Manager (Sonora)
The Engagement Manager is a full-time, on-site leadership role responsible for cultivating a vibrant, inclusive, and wellness-focused environment for older adults in Assisted Living, Memory Support, and Skilled Nursing. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team of wellness and engagement professionals, this role leads the design and delivery of a dynamic calendar of programs, events, and partnerships that reflect Mather’s Culture of Creativity and ContinuWell philosophies. This is deeply meaningful work that empowers residents to live with purpose, joy, and connection—encouraging them to be creators of culture and active participants in their own lives. The Engagement Manager plays a central role in shaping daily experiences that support emotional, physical, cognitive, and social well-being, making a lasting impact on residents, families, and the broader community.
Essential Functions
- Program Delivery & Facilitation
- Design and implement group and individual programs rooted in the Culture of Creativity model, including music, movement, storytelling, nature immersion, culinary arts, sensory experiences, and celebrations.
- Ensure programs are inclusive and responsive to residents’ diverse physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
- Calendar & Event Management
- Develop and manage a robust Life Center calendar that meets wellness and engagement standards.
- Facilitate and support programs led by staff, volunteers, and independent contractors.
- Coordinate outings and community events to promote resident participation beyond the Life Center.
- Resident-Centered Engagement
- Translate resident interests and care plan assessments into personalized engagement opportunities.
- Attend care plan meetings and document engagement activities in the EMR system to support regulatory compliance.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise, train, and schedule engagement specialists, providing ongoing coaching and performance management.
- Ensure staff are equipped with best practices for therapeutic engagement and program design.
- Culture & Communication
- Foster an inclusive, uplifting environment that supports emotional and social wellness.
- Maintain open communication with residents, families, and staff to gather input and continuously improve programs.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational standards for engagement programs.
- Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the Life Center.
- Volunteer & Partnership Management
- Oversee the Life Center volunteer program, including orientation, scheduling, and compliance.
- Manage relationships with independent contractors and oversee engagement budget and billing.
- Strategic Collaboration
- Partner with leadership to align programs with Mather’s brand standards and strategic goals.
- Support delivery of Signature Programs and participate in planning and evaluation processes.
- Memory Support Programming
- Serve as a Creating My Possibilities (CMP) Champion, co-facilitating workshops and implementing strengths-based experiences for residents living with dementia.
