Senior Project Manager (Contract, Immediate Start)

New York, New York

New York, NY | Immediate Start through September 30, 2026

MATTE is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join the team on a short-term contract, dedicated to a major integrated project spanning creative, content, post-production, and experiential production.

This is a fast-moving, highly collaborative engagement with multiple interconnected workstreams and a significant volume of deliverables. We’re looking for someone who can step in quickly, bring structure and clarity to the process, and keep teams, timelines, and deliverables moving from creative development through execution and wrap.

The ideal candidate comes from a creative agency, experiential, or integrated production environment and is comfortable managing complex workstreams, senior stakeholders, and aggressive timelines.

What You’ll Do

  • Own day-to-day project management across the engagement from onboarding through execution and wrap.
  • Build, manage, and continuously update integrated project timelines across Creative, Strategy, Client Services, Content, Post-Production, and Experiential Production.
  • Lead project kickoffs, daily status meetings, and cross-functional working sessions.
  • Maintain the daily status and hotsheet, clearly communicating assignments, priorities, deadlines, and next steps across the team.
  • Track all project deliverables and proactively follow up with team members to ensure on-time completion.
  • Identify dependencies, bottlenecks, and project risks early, escalating and problem-solving as needed to protect key deadlines.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams, freelancers, vendors, and external partners to keep all workstreams aligned.
  • Support resource planning and flag bandwidth or staffing needs throughout the engagement.
  • Maintain clear and organized project documentation, including timelines, status reports, action items, and deliverable trackers.
  • Oversee the integration of creative development, content production, post-production, and experiential production timelines to ensure all workstreams remain aligned through final delivery.
  • Provide hands-on project leadership during critical execution periods, including weekend work as required to maintain project timelines and delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior-level project management experience within a creative agency, experiential agency, production company, or similarly fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing large-scale, integrated projects with multiple simultaneous workstreams.
  • Strong understanding of creative and production workflows, ideally spanning creative development, content, post-production, and experiential.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage detailed timelines while maintaining visibility across the broader project.
  • Confidence leading status meetings, driving next steps, and holding cross-functional teams accountable to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across creative, production, strategy, client services, freelancers, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with the ability to anticipate issues before they impact delivery.
  • Ability to jump into a fast-moving project quickly and bring immediate structure, organization, and momentum.
