Facilities Manager

MatX is hiring an experienced Facilities Manager to join the Operations team. In this role, you’ll work with leadership, the People Team, IT, and Security leads to support our team members to do their best work. You’ll partner with IT/Security to act as the office safety warden, ensuring that all training, drills, and response to actual emergencies are handled safely. You will partner with the Executive Assistant and People Team to plan and execute internal and external events aimed at reinforcing our company culture. You may take on new tasks related to the office that have not been considered in this iteration of the role. 

 

What You’ll Do Here

  • Provide office management support for our building, including office furniture and decor selection and maintenance, food and beverage management (including vendor management), technical support alongside IT resources, building access management, etc. 
  • Partner with the Finance manager to handle expenses related to office operations.
  • Manage office supplies, vendors, and service providers
  • Work with People, Talent, and EA to ensure guests are checked in when arriving and departing the building.
  • Engage in construction management for ongoing tenant improvements to our HQ planned over the next two years.
  • Act as the point of contact for our landlord and property management to address any operational issues with the building. You’ll partner with IT/Security to act as the office safety warden, ensuring that all training, drills, and response to actual emergencies are handled safely.
  • Provide on-call support during off-hours should an emergency arise at the building.
  • Coordinate and execute on company events, alongside the People team and EA.
  • Additional responsibilities that will come up on an ad-hoc basis.



Who You Are

  • 3+ years of experience in office/facilities or property management, physical security, HR, program management, event management, communications, accounting, or other fields that would set someone up for success in this role, a plus
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and move quickly from one to the next in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment
  • Experienced and passionate change agent. Able to influence and build consensus and trust across teams to accelerate outcomes by incorporating others’ input while remaining focused on execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good judgment and ability to balance the priorities of both the business and team members 
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen and creativity, including the ability to generate innovative insights and ideas to identify new opportunities that help support our growing business
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to simplify complex problems with a structured approach and develop data-backed solutions to drive outcomes
  • Inquisitive and driven - willing to jump in and assist to keep the business moving forward with a bias to action

 

Compensation

The US base salary for this full-time position is determined based on a variety of factors, including role, experience, location, job-related skills, and relevant education and training. Career length is only a guideline for compensation.

$100,000 - 130,000 + equity
