Senior Technical Product Manager
Who We Are:
mavens (formerly Storemaven) is a data technology company that aims to empower people with the tools, skills, and confidence they need to understand the world at their fingertips. Our goal is to tackle all the complex and unsolved areas of mobile publishing with innovative tools, accessible data, and scalable processes.
We’re a group of authentic, curious, intelligent, and playful problem-solvers who enjoy succeeding together. Founded in 2015 and operating as a bootstrap startup for seven years. mavens (previously Storemaven) was acquired in 2022 by mega mobile publisher Zynga/TakeTwo Inc to bring our maveness to the next level.
About the role
As a Senior Technical Product Manager, you will be at the forefront of driving backend-intensive features and infrastructure capabilities that are critical to our platform- with a particular focus on the Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) initiative. You’ll lead the end-to-end development of technically complex features, such as server-to-server integrations, backend workflows, and data exchange between internal systems and external partners. This role requires strong technical intuition, the ability to navigate API documentation, and a deep understanding of how systems connect across the stack. You’ll collaborate closely with data and frontend product managers to ensure seamless alignment across teams and deliver robust, scalable solutions that support our D2C efforts and broader platform evolution.
Responsibilities
-
Own and lead backend-centric product features and technical platform initiatives from concept to delivery.
-
Deeply understand our platform architecture, including how backend services interact with frontend applications and data systems.
-
Collaborate closely with engineering, data product managers, and frontend product managers to align on product scope, milestones, and delivery plans.
-
Read and interpret technical documentation (e.g., APIs, system designs) to define product specs and translate them into actionable work for engineering teams.
-
Identify product opportunities by analyzing platform capabilities and gaps in technical infrastructure.
-
Write clear, detailed, and technically accurate product requirements and specifications.
-
Ensure high-quality execution through testing, validation, and iteration in collaboration with engineering and QA.
-
Serve as the product point of contact for technical stakeholders and system integrators.
-
Prioritize product work based on impact, complexity, and cross-team dependencies.
Who are you?
-
A technically fluent product manager who understands systems architecture, backend services, and the logic behind APIs and data flows.
-
A structured thinker with the ability to break down complex problems and guide execution from A to Z.
-
A collaborator who thrives in cross-functional settings and works well with technical and non-technical peers alike.
-
A clear communicator who can translate between business needs and engineering realities.
-
Comfortable working in ambiguity and charting a path forward in technically complex or undefined areas.
-
Self-motivated and proactive - you don’t wait for someone else to figure it out.
Requirements
-
3–5 years of experience as a technical product manager or in a similar role owning backend systems or platform features.
-
Strong understanding of backend architectures, APIs, data structures, and system design.
-
Experience reading and writing technical documentation and working closely with engineers.
-
Proven success leading cross-functional product development for technical or infrastructure-heavy features.
-
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
-
Experience working with distributed systems, microservices, or data pipelines is a plus.
-
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-
Verbal and written proficiency in English.
