THE ROLE:

  • Write ultra-low latency software using C++ for rapid quote placement on US-based exchanges, including CME and CBOE.
  • Achieve the fastest trade execution possible and ensure the firm remains competitive in high-frequency trading environments.
  • Optimize code and employ coding techniques such as compile-time metaprogramming and memory pooling to minimize latency and enhance our trading operations' speed and efficiency.
  • Conduct rigorous performance profiling and utilize techniques such as memory leak profiling to identify and address bottlenecks for enhanced trading speed.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management strategies, including trade observability and telemetry for compliance, to ensure trading integrity.
  • Sustain state-of-the-art trading infrastructure to facilitate swift and efficient order placement.
  • Collaborate with traders to understand their requirements and ensure the trading application aligns with their strategies and goals.
  • Support software teams such as the Market Making Connectivity and Market Making Pricing teams to develop a seamless, integrated trading application.
  • Analyze aspects of the business and connect Application Programming Interfaces (“APIs”) exposed by other teams to develop one seamless application.
  • Liaise with the Hardware team to optimize software-hardware interactions, aiming for ultra-low latency to enhance our trading capabilities by utilizing techniques including speculating when to cancel orders, leveraging hardware to analyze incoming packets, firing immediate cancellations, and leveraging software to ensure that the correct course of action is taken when more information becomes available.

Salary: $220,000 - $240,000 per annum.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Requires Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study, plus five (5) years of experience with C++ programming; low latency programming; performance benchmarking tests in C++; performance tuning and analysis; SQL data analysis for software latency; testing frameworks; and, template metaprogramming.
