Program details:
- Location: Chicago (based in London for training period)
- Program start date: September 6th, 2027
- Application deadline: Rolling basis
Base salary: $150,000-175,000 dependent on education and experience
You’ll begin with a structured 7-week training program in London, designed to prepare you for a career in quantitative research. This initial phase focuses on building the technical foundations and professional skills needed for the role, as well as forming crucial working relationships with your UK counterparts - both on the Graduate Program and more senior stakeholders.
Following training, you’ll return to Chicago and roll onto two project rotations, where you’ll continue to learn through hands-on experience. Maven offers a few days of leave to support this transition, as well as travel, accommodation and relocation support.
What you will be doing:
- Design, evaluate and continuously improve our automated trading algorithms
- Build quantitative pricing models, for example American Option Pricing and Volatility Modeling
- Research and analyze trading data to find and test trading opportunities
How and what you will learn:
- Progress through a structured onboarding program with clear learning milestones
- Build your foundation through theory and exercise-led training, led by Maven’s Head of Technology Training & Graduates
- Learn about financial markets, our platforms and specific quant research field for OMM, apply your academic research abilities and learn how to perform research on real-world data of varied volume and sampling frequency across a variety of domains
- We will teach you how to use and master Maven’s in-house tools and systems. Maven utilizes the latest technology in order to meet and exceed our demanding business challenges
- Attend regular check-ins with the Quant Researcher and Emerging Talent teams
Who you are:
Key criteria:
- A Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD student in applied mathematics, statistics, engineering or physics
- Relevant programming experience in at least one language (Python, C++, C#)
- Proactive interest in improving existing trading strategies and identifying new opportunities
- Motivated for quantitative research, financial services and trading, with knowledge of financial markets
- A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
