Engineering Manager

Primary Responsibility:

The Systems Engineering Manager provides expertise, leadership, and supervision for the Systems Engineering team. This role supports the organization in conjunction with sales, manufacturing, and procurement teams and cross-functional leaders to ensure that system designs meet technical requirements and customer needs within the web-guiding and tension industry. The manager is responsible for driving product development, improving processes, and fostering a culture of teamwork and problem-solving to continue a tradition of innovation in the end-to-end electro-mechanical and pneumo-hydraulic market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively integrates product design thinking into the team's workflow, ensuring that all system designs meet technical specifications and align with user-centered design philosophies.
  • Develops and maintains business metrics reflecting product design efficiency and effectiveness, departmental efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Champions the introduction of new products into the pipeline, focusing on innovative design solutions and market relevance.
  • Creates an environment within the department that promotes leadership, innovation, and creative design ideas.
  • Manages budget with an eye on design resource allocation and cost-benefit analysis in product design aspects.
  • Stay current with developments in industry CAD software, computer-related hardware, and emerging trends in product design and user experience.
  • Ensures staff skills and capabilities are being developed and/or maintained to the highest levels within the industry.
  • Maintain Lean Manufacturing methods and philosophies within the department.
  • Keep management informed of needs for departmental personnel and capital equipment.
  • Modify existing system designs to meet current customer needs.
  • Provide support for sales, manufacturing, procurement, and Maxcess technical service teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • This is an onsite position located in Oklahoma City, OK.
  • Sit/stand/walk 8-10 hours a day
  • Travel: 10%

Minimum Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline, with additional coursework or experience in Product Design or Industrial Design being highly advantageous.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor, strongly favoring candidates with experience in design-focused software tools.

Other Candidate Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for product aesthetics and user-centric design solutions.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and processes with the ability to integrate these with factory standards, fabrication processes, and design aesthetics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to work on multiple projects and assignments is critical.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with customers is beneficial.
