Laser Operator

The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role supports production goals by ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines
- Load/unload raw materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and work orders
- Adjust machine settings for optimal cutting
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Deburr, clean, or prep parts as needed
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues
- Perform routine maintenance
- Maintain production logs and documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Coordinate with programmers, supervisors and other departments
Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
- 1-3+ years of CNC or laser cutting experience
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication
- Familiarity with CNC controls
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Shop/manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand for long periods on concrete floors
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Bend, squat, twist, and reach while loading/unloading laser tables
- Exposure to noise, dust, and industrial environments
- Use hands and arms in moderately strenuous tasks
