Sales Account Executive (Mortgage Tech, SaaS)

Remote

WHO WE ARE

Our mission is to build enterprise software and products that empower people to make mortgage lending simpler and more accessible.

Maxwell was founded in 2015 by homebuyers who were shocked by the complexity of the mortgage process for borrowers and lending teams alike. Somehow, in the mix of paperwork, points, and process, the humanity and emotion of the largest financing decision of a person's life had been lost. After spending a year with over 1,000 mortgage professionals, the founding team realized we needed to focus on making the people who make a difference shine. Now, we employ a world-class team of software experts and mortgage professionals who pull up our socks every morning to do just that. We're privileged that our company has been recognized by HousingWire, Deloitte, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and others as a leading innovator in our industry. We are a committed team doing honest work that matters in the real world — one lender, one borrower, one homeowner at a time. And it works.

Today our digital mortgage platform powers hundreds of mortgage lending institutions nationwide, from independent mortgage banks and credit unions to brokers and community banks. We work to make them, and their employees, the real heroes who enable homeowners to achieve the American Dream.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a high-performing, quota-carrying Account Executive who thrives in complex, consultative sales environments. You know how to navigate sales cycles, multiple stakeholders, and nuanced customer needs. You bring structure, urgency, and creativity to every deal. You combine a strong hunter mentality with the ability to build trust quickly, positioning yourself as a true partner to your prospects. You’re equally comfortable generating pipeline as you are closing it, and you take pride in owning your number end-to-end. Most importantly, you’re motivated by solving real problems for customers and can clearly articulate how technology drives meaningful business outcomes.

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute thoughtful, account-based sales strategies tailored to the needs and challenges of mortgage lenders, consistently achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Pipeline Ownership: Build, manage, and convert a healthy pipeline through a combination of outbound prospecting, inbound follow-up, and partner collaboration.
  • Client Acquisition: Identify and engage prospective customers, run effective discovery and product demonstrations, and close new business with confidence.
  • Consultative Selling: Lead with curiosity, deeply understand customer workflows, pain points, and goals, and map our solutions to measurable business value.
  • Account Management Mindset: Establish strong foundations with new customers that drive long-term success, expansion, and retention.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with marketing, product, and customer success to deliver a seamless and compelling customer experience.
  • Data-Driven Execution: Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene, forecasting accuracy, and performance tracking using tools like Salesforce and other modern sales technologies.
  • Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory changes within the mortgage and fintech landscape to identify new opportunities.

IMPACT YOU’LL HAVE

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Own a core revenue segment of the business by consistently closing high-quality, high-value deals with mortgage lenders.
  • Expand Market Presence: Help establish Maxwell as the go-to platform for modern mortgage operations by winning key logos and expanding into new segments.
  • Shape Our Sales Motion: Provide frontline insights that influence pricing, packaging, messaging, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Elevate the Customer Experience: Act as the bridge between prospect and product, ensuring customers clearly understand the value we deliver and why it matters.
  • Build Durable Relationships: Create long-term partnerships with lenders that lead to expansion, retention, and advocacy.
  • Raise the Bar: Bring a high-performance mindset that pushes the team forward and contributes to a culture of accountability and excellence.

IDEALLY YOU'LL HAVE

  • 5-7+ years of closing experience in mortgage-related SaaS, with meaningful exposure to the mortgage industry and lending workflows
  • Proven ability to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals with meaningful ACV
  • Strong discovery and consultative selling skills: you ask better questions than your competitors
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving, growth-stage environment
  • Familiarity with modern sales tools (Salesforce, Gong, ZoomInfo, etc.) and disciplined pipeline management
  • Willingness to travel (~20-30%) to meet prospects and customers, attend industry events, and build meaningful relationships in-market
  • A bias toward action, curiosity, and continuous improvement

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

  • You’re Selling Real Impact, Not Shelfware. Our platform directly impacts how lenders operate and how borrowers experience one of the most important financial moments of their lives.
  • A Category Still Being Defined. Mortgage tech is undergoing massive transformation. This is an opportunity to help shape how modern lending gets done, not just sell into an established category.
  • High Visibility, High Ownership. You won’t be one of many AEs in a rigid system, you’ll have real influence on how we sell, who we target, and how we win.
  • Access to Leadership & Fast Feedback Loops. Work closely with leadership, product, and marketing in a tight, collaborative environment where your insights actually drive decisions.
  • Not Just a Desk Sale. This role blends modern SaaS selling with real-world relationship building—you’ll be in-market with customers, at industry events, and face-to-face when it matters most.
  • Meaningful Deals, Not Volume for Volume’s Sake. This is a strategic, consultative sale with fewer, bigger, more impactful deals with real business outcomes.
  • Mission That Actually Matters. You’re helping make homeownership more accessible and improving a process that affects millions of people, not just hitting quota.

Compensation: $80,000–$110,000 base salary, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) typically ranging from 1.5x to 2x the base salary.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
