Radio Frequency (RF) Scientist

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct, oversee, and teach comprehensive testing and characterization of RF circuits and custom cables for quantum computing applications.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams to translate innovations into functional prototypes and production-ready products.
  • Initiate and direct new project proposals, conduct feasibility studies and developing project scopes, goals, and deliverables in line with business objectives.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development within the team to maintain a competitive edge in quantum computing technologies.
  • Interface with the operations team to implement best practices in bill-of-materials management and procurement strategies, optimizing cost-efficiency and supply chain resilience.
  • Initiate new product designs.
  • Model and simulate RF/microwave components and circuits using electronic and electromagnetic design software (HFSS, ADS, etc.), ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry standards.
  • Work across functional areas (structural, electrical, software) to deliver fully integrated products.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in engineering field, or equivalent experience
  • 3-6 years working experience with RF or quantum devices
  • Experience with measurement equipment (e.g., VNA, AWG, oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum analyzer) and CAD/EDA tools (e.g., HFSS, SPICE, ADS, Altium)
  • Measurement and qualification (S-parameters, etc.) of RF signal lines
  • Familiarity with scientific programming (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
  • Self-starter with ability to drive results independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
