Maybell is a venture-backed startup of scientists, engineers, visionaries, and innovators designing and building the hardware that makes quantum science possible. 

We are looking for software engineers who want to see their ideas and innovations become the products that will define the next generation of computing. Successful candidates will have experience in the end-to-end product development cycle from concept ideation and requirements discovery to product launch and production (we’ll help you come up to speed on the quantum side of things). 

Responsibilities 

• Work to develop all aspects of the Maybell code base with a focus on reliability and quality. 

• Contribute to the design and development of Maybell software products from the ground up. 

• Translate high level customer needs into product and technical requirements and use them to drive design decisions. 

• Work closely with manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams to ensure a smooth transition from concept to fully scalable high-quality products. 

Required Qualifications 

• Able to relocate to Colorado, as this is a hybrid position. 

• Comfortable working with cross-functional engineering teams. 

• Experience developing on Linux systems. 

• Proficient in Python, JavaScript, and at least one compiled language - Rust/C/C++/Java. 

• Experience with modern software engineering tools, workflows, and best practices. 

• Willingness to serve in DevOps, DevSecOps, and Cloud Ops roles. 

• Aptitude and desire to quickly learn embedded Rust. 

• Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills. 

• Ability to adapt and perform in a fast paced and dynamic organization. 

Desired Qualifications 

• UI/UX design experience. 

• A successful candidate will likely have 5+ years of experience in professional software development. 

• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing. 

Base salary $120,000/yr - $160,000/yr + Cash Bonus + Equity
