Maybell Quantum is seeking an experienced Welding Technician. Our ideal team member is a hands-on individual who has experience building and fabricating highly complex hardware. They are self-motivated with strong communication skills and can work well in teams and individually.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Fabricate components using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, face, tack and weld parts; setup and measures assemblies; selects appropriate methods. Perform orbital welds using Orbitalum Smart Welder OM180 with OW12 or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of orbital and wire-fed weld machines (power supplies, weld heads and supporting equipment).
  • Cutting, facing, prepping and tacking of metal components.
  • Recommend manufacturing quality and organizational systems improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts.
  • Develop work instructions and production documentation.
  • Design manufacturing jigs and equipment to improve production quality and throughput.
  • Leak test welded components via Helium Leak Detector experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • HS Diploma or higher.
  • 6+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment 
  • 3+ years of weld / fab shop experience.
  • Self-starter who can thrive in ambiguity with ability to drive results independently and through team members.
  • Exceptional hands-on assembly and fabrication skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong safety-oriented mindset 

Desired Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Experience in any of the following areas: vacuum systems, leak checking, thermal systems, brazing, welding – both wire-fed and orbital, valves, pumps, pneumatics 
  • Experience in managing quality systems 
  • Machine shop and fabrication skills 

Base salary $25-45/hour
