Engineering Technician

Maybell Quantum is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician to assist our engineering team with both prototype machining and complex assembly builds. Our ideal team member can excel in a fast-paced hardware-based startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Machining and Fabrication
- Support prototype and production machining operations using both CNC and manual equipment
- Read, interpret, and work from detailed component and assembly drawings
- Comfortable with working within a CAD system for basic model and design manipulation
- Perform CAM programming for complex parts and setups using Fusion 360 or equivalent
- Setup and run components (3-Axis CNC and manual lathe)
- Procure and manage tools, materials, and consumables for upcoming jobs
- Design and build fixtures, tooling, and jigs to assist in machining and assembly operations
- Operate and maintain shop equipment, ensuring preventative maintenance is completed on schedule
Assembly and Engineering Support
- Assist engineers with prototype builds, sub assembly integration, and system testing
- Stage and organize parts for complex mechanical builds
- Assist with resource planning and requirements development
- Document assembly processes, including BOM discrepancies, order of operations, and assembly challenges
- Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve manufacturing work instructions
- Contribute to process development and continuous improvement efforts across the team
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as an engineering or manufacturing technician working with complex mechanical hardware
- Minimum 2 years experience with CNC machining and CAM programming for 3-Axis CNC machines
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Experience with Fusion 360 CAM programming
- Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard (GD&T)
- Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures
- Additional machine shop and fabrication skills (welding, brazing, etc.)
- Associates degree or other relevant technical certifications

Base Salary: $30/hr - $45/hr depending on experience and qualifications, eligible for overtime pay, with additional compensation in equity and bonus
