The McAdams Civic Engineering group serves the region’s top public, municipal, and State clients with a variety of civil engineering services. Projects include sports complexes, parks, event centers, government complexes, and municipal engineering work. Our Civic Engineering group is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager who is a strong critical thinker, problem solver, and communicator. Highly qualified candidates will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality work, act as a champion for team success, and prioritize personal career growth. This individual will be responsible for working directly with clients as well as other internal McAdams groups for the development of projects and client service.
Essential Functions + Responsibilities
- Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, mechanical engineers, project team, contractors, and owners.
- Support the entitlement and permitting process by preparing drawings, reports, and applications.
- Review local and state design guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Work alongside project team in accordance with company standards from concept phase through construction administration for a variety of projects.
- Ability to handle working on multiple projects at the same time.
- Work well in a group/team setting.
- Experience in supporting business development, marketing, presentations, interviews, and client management.
- Experience in development of project scopes, programming, and fee proposals.
- Assist and lead the design and production of civil engineering construction documents and conceptual site plans in public development projects.
- Complete civil utility and site designs (water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, HGL modeling, stormwater management, fire flow design) and coordinate with mechanical utilities (natural gas, steam, chilled water, high voltage, emergency power, communications duct banks).
- Complete site grading plans, utility plan/profiles, earthworks calculations, stormwater management facility designs, sediment/erosion control design/permitting, design reports, and specifications.
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or able to receive within the next year for the State of North Carolina.
- 10+ years of experience in civil site engineering.
- Public, municipal, State, and/or Federal campus, facilities, or related civil site design experience.
- Progressive experience with civil engineering design and permitting on a variety of public, municipal, government, and campus environments.
- An interest in the Civic Engineering Sector and helping the group grow.
- Experience in design of water and sewer mains, mass grading, erosion control, and storm drainage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil site design, governmental regulations, plan preparation, surveying principles, and construction techniques.
- Experience with AutoCAD CIVIL 3D.
- Self-starter with strong drive to better oneself, project team, and community.
