Planner II

Position Purpose
Collaborate with the Planning and Design team and other market sectors and services within the firm to produce high-quality designs, due diligence reports, graphics, and materials for various projects across multiple markets. Be a valuable part of design teams as teams prepare conceptual design, advance plans, construction documents, and other efforts for a wide variety of projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, public, institutional, and healthcare, with minimal supervision.

Essential Functions + Responsibilities
- Interprets and applies applicable codes, ordinances, regulations and other planning documents.
- With moderate supervision, conducts due diligence, research, and data analysis in specific or general project areas.
- With moderate supervision and as applicable to the entitlement process, prepares applications and materials included Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Rezonings, Annexations, Development Plans and Variance requests for submittal.
- When required, statistical, development calculations (such as development summary data, density and FAR), or geometric knowledge and ability to apply such knowledge in practical situations.
- Attends and assists in presenting at public and stakeholder meetings (daytime, evenings).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Planning or a related field from an accredited program
- 2-4 years of entitlement planning experience.
- Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively with project team and manager.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills.
- Be committed to team success as well as personal career growth.
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Adobe Suite software and Microsoft Office Suite experience.
Preferences
- Experience in the development of project planning documents.
- Obtained or ability to work towards obtaining AICP licensure with 1-2 years.
