The McAdams Education + Healthcare Sector serves the region’s top public and private K-12, Higher Ed, and Healthcare clients with a variety of services on campus environments. The McAdams Education + Healthcare Sector works with our clients to provide the community with critical education, research, learning, healthcare, and healing facilities. Our Education + Healthcare sector is seeking a skilled Project Manager who is a strong critical thinker, problem solver, and communicator. Highly qualified candidates will demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality work, act as a champion for team success, and prioritize personal career growth. This individual will be responsible for working directly with clients and regulatory agencies as well as other internal McAdams groups for the development of projects to ensure our client’s satisfaction.
Essential Functions + Responsibilities
- Lead the “outward facing” aspects of projects with direct client contact
- Work directly with Project Engineers and Technical Managers to lead a team for project execution
- Coordinate with architects, landscape architects, mechanical engineers, project team, contractors, and owners.
- Work alongside project team in accordance with company standards from concept phase through construction administration.
- Complete/oversee civil utility and site designs (water, sanitary sewer, storm drain, HGL modeling, stormwater management, fire flow design) and coordinate with mechanical utilities (natural gas, steam, chilled water, high voltage, emergency power, communications duct banks).
- Complete/oversee site grading plans, utility plan/profiles, earthworks calculations, stormwater management facility designs, sediment/erosion control design/permitting, design reports, and specifications.
- Manage and train design team for both career and technical development.
Qualifications
- An interest in the Education + Healthcare sector and helping the group grow
- Degree from an accredited program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Project Management Experienc
- Self-starter with strong drive to better oneself, project team, and community
- Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D with grading, drainage, and stormwater management Experience in development of project scopes, programming, fee proposals, invoices, and accounts receivable
Preferences
- Experience with civil engineering design and permitting on a variety of Education and Healthcare projects in campus environments.
- Experience with NC State Construction Office processes
- Professional Engineer (PE) or able to receive within the next year for the State of North Carolina or ability to obtain North Carolina license within 6 months
