Join a collaborative and fast‑paced accounting team within a multi‑office law firm. We’re looking for a detail‑driven Staff Accountant who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys balancing daily transactional work with deeper financial analysis. In this role, you’ll support multiple offices and ancillary entities, manage core AP/AR functions, and contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Key Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions for assigned accounts.
- Support firm‑wide AP/AR processes, including preparing, recording, and analyzing journal entries.
- Monitor and triage Accounting inboxes; respond directly or route inquiries to the appropriate team member.
- Complete monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analyses, and ad hoc statements as needed.
- Gather and prepare documentation for the firm’s annual review conducted by the CPA firm.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial or payroll‑related information.
- Use firm‑selected financial systems and participate in ongoing training to maintain proficiency and efficiency.
- Contribute to process improvements and support the exploration of technology‑based solutions.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Experience with Aderant is a plus.
- Experience with modified cash basis accounting is preferred.
- Experience working with intercompany (parent–subsidiary) structures is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work professionally with staff at all levels, including attorneys and firm leadership.
- High attention to detail with reliable follow‑through.
- Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate, share information, and proactively assist others.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3+ years of experience preferred.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in AP, AR, and account reconciliation will also be considered.
- Prior law firm accounting experience is a plus.
