Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will assist in preparing and maintaining financial statements and compiling reports. The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties. 

This is a full-time role, based 5 days a week in our Beverly Hills office.

Responsibilities

  • Process Accounts Payable invoices and W-9 verification for new vendors
  • Prepare and post closing and adjusting journal entries
  • Maintain weekly bank deposits and cash application
  • Assist and maintain amortization and accrual schedules
  • Process credit card payments and code to proper GL account
  • Reconciling bank, credit card accounts and inter-company accounts
  • Assist in documenting processes and controls
  • Maintain list of approved vendors for credit card purchases
  • Ad-hoc reporting and special projects
  • Assist in internal controls documentation and implementation
  • Assist in intercompany billing, transactions, and reconciliation

Skills & Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in accounting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Education

BA/BS degree in accounting or equivalent practical experience.

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in California, MCO includes a reasonable estimate of the salary or hourly rate range for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $75,000 per year to $85,000 per year.
