You will have the opportunity to partner with our Business Systems team to help automate and integrate a portfolio of SaaS applications (NetSuite, Salesforce, Coupa, etc.) using a wide range of automation tools. This role is designed for students who want to build real-world software engineering experience, learn how to automate complex business processes, and contribute to meaningful initiatives while being mentored by experienced engineers.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with engineers to brainstorm solution architecture and review proposed automation designs.
  • Support system/user acceptance testing and provide assistance during deployment.
  • Document business processes and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Write clean, efficient code and learn to develop reusable scripts and workflows.
  • Assist in diagnosing and triaging production issues, gaining experience in root cause analysis.
  • Support the automation team in maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and tracking key performance metrics.
  • Learn about MongoDB’s automation ecosystem and contribute to project improvements.

Who you are

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Foundational Knowledge: Exposure to or coursework in workflow-based logic, programming languages (Python, C#, or Java), and databases (SQL, XML, or JSON), as well as familiarity with low-code platforms (Workato, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, etc).
  • Curiosity: A strong desire to learn RPA tools (like UiPath) and AI-driven automation (e.g., Langchain, vector databases).
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable explaining technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Agile Mindset: Interest in or familiarity with Agile project delivery and a drive to solve problems through collaboration.
  • Adaptability: A "better way" mentality—you enjoy identifying inefficiencies and proposing creative, constructive solutions.
  • Commitment: Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) for the duration of the 10-week summer program.

Pre-Work

To ensure a smooth start, we ask you to complete the following learning modules before the internship begins:

  • Required:
    • UiPath Academy: Complete the "Automation Developer Associate" learning path.
    • Programming Basics: Review the MongoDB Python Developer Path or your preferred language documentation to brush up on scripting fundamentals.
    • SQL & Databases: Review basic SQL querying to understand how we interface with data.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Version Control: Familiarize yourself with basic Git/GitHub workflows (branching, merging, pull requests).
    • API Fundamentals: Review the basics of REST APIs and how they integrate with third-party applications.

Documentation: Review MongoDB’s Documentation Style Guidelines to align with our internal standards.
