Job Description:

Meade Engineering is seeking a Manager of FP&A and Accounting to help build and scale the company’s financial planning and analysis capabilities while maintaining a strong connection to the accounting and financial reporting processes.

This role will initially support both financial planning and core accounting activities, including participation in month-end close and general ledger analysis, to ensure a deep understanding of the company’s financial results and reporting structure.

As the company grows and develops additional business lines, this role will gradually evolve toward a greater emphasis on financial planning, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis, helping leadership better understand the financial drivers of the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on financial operations and forward-looking financial analysis, and who wants to help build the FP&A capability of a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Close Support (Short Term)

Support the accounting team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of the company’s financial reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with month-end close activities in coordination with the Controller
  • Perform general ledger account analysis and reconciliations
  • Support preparation of internal financial reporting packages
  • Help validate financial data used in management reporting
  • Develop a strong understanding of the company’s accounting policies and reporting structure
  • Assist with improving the efficiency and accuracy of the close process
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure consistency between financial reporting and management reporting
  • Support ERP and financial planning platform implementation efforts, including data validation, reporting design, process alignment, and testing to improve the accuracy and scalability of financial reporting and close activities

This phase of the role is designed to ensure the individual develops a strong understanding of the company’s financial structure and reporting processes.

Financial Planning & Performance Analysis (Medium Term)

As familiarity with the company’s financial operations grows, the role will increasingly focus on financial analysis and performance management.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the development of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts
  • Prepare monthly actual versus budget analysis and variance explanations
  • Identify key financial and operational drivers affecting company performance
  • Develop and maintain financial models related to revenue, margins, and operating expenses
  • Assist with preparation of financial presentations for the Executive Leadership Team
  • Partner with operational leaders to understand business performance and cost drivers
  • Improve financial visibility across the organization through reporting and analysis
  • Lead financial forecasting and long-range financial planning

Strategic Finance & Business Insights (Long Term)

As the company expands its business lines and financial complexity increases, the role will evolve into a more strategic FP&A function.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop scenario modeling and financial projections to support strategic decisions
  • Provide financial insights to support new business initiatives and growth opportunities
  • Build dashboards and performance metrics that improve decision-making across the organization
  • Support capital allocation decisions and financial strategy discussions
  • Help develop scalable financial planning processes as the organization grows

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Work closely with Accounting, Operations, Engineering, and Executive Leadership
  • Translate financial results into actionable business insights
  • Help align operational data with financial reporting and planning processes
  • Support improvements in financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or a combination of both
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and general ledger structure
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or public accounting experience
  • Experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial modeling roles
  • Experience working in professional services, engineering, consulting, or project-based organizations
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar platforms
  • Experience with financial planning platforms such as Adaptive, OneStream, or similar platforms
  • Experience preparing management reporting or executive financial presentations
  • Experience supporting financial system implementations or reporting automation initiatives

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
