THE ROLE
In this role, you will assist attorneys by providing legal administrative and research support, including: document preparation, organization, and review; revising and formatting presentation materials; scheduling; tracking legal issues, questions, and deadlines; and presenting internal updates.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- Two years related experience, with contract administration, business, and legal operations coordination experience.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Strong experience managing administrative software tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, HubSpot, Miro).
- Experience adapting to quick changes, using new technologies, and working in a “start-up” environment highly preferred.
- Knowledge of copyright law and music publishing principles is preferred.
- Must be able to work under deadlines, handle pressure, be proactive in taking initiative, and take responsibility.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion and integrity.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
AS A MEMBER OF THE LEGAL TEAM FOR THE MLC, YOU WILL:

· Provide administrative support for meetings, such as scheduling, researching information, preparing materials and/or tracking deadlines. In addition, assist with agendas, organize notes into minutes, and collect/problem solve issues to prepare for productive meetings with internal and external partners.
· Manage the contract review & approval process.
· Maintain records and tracking systems for contracts, agreements, renewals, licenses.
· Assist with review of chain-of-title documents (e.g., Assignments, Publishing & Administration agreements, Letters of Direction, and Writer Split Agreements)
· Review external correspondence and directing inquiries to the appropriate recipients.
· Maintain various legal notice templates.
· Manage calendar of regulatory deadlines.
· Create, produce, and edit correspondence and other written materials including but not limited to letters, memos, and cover sheets.
· As needed, research and synthesize information on various legal topics.
· Maintain master legal reference materials archive.
· Create & maintain good work relationships with co-workers, functional business partners and senior leaders.
