The Vice President, Employer Business Development and Sales, will play a pivotal role in expanding a new business group within MedeAnalytics under the SubPop Health brand. This group offers a comprehensive, innovative platform that provides employers, brokers, and advisors with actionable insights into healthcare spending, tools to manage costs, and the ability to customize benefits for unique employee sub-populations.

This role will collaborate closely with MedeAnalytics’ General Manager, Employer Solutions and Platform, to establish and lead both channel and direct sales efforts targeting self-funded employers, advisors, captives, and broker customers.   A deep understanding of healthcare benefits decision-making processes, economics, and the broader ecosystem is critical.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a dynamic and accomplished professional to shape and lead the first analytics-driven action platform, delivering measurable cost savings, improved performance, and enhanced compliance management for employers.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with decision-makers at self-insured employers, benefits brokers, and captives.
  • Introduce and position capability-based solutions tailored to client needs through innovative, consultative selling strategies.
  • Develop and manage indirect channel partnerships with brokers/advisors, law firms, private equity firms, and other organizations with influence in the self-funded employer market.

Sales Execution and Market Penetration

  • Create and execute comprehensive territory and pipeline strategies to achieve sales targets and drive growth.
  • Partner with MedeAnalytics Marketing to lead go-to-market initiatives and drive brand and market awareness.
  • Leverage data-driven prospecting techniques to identify high-potential opportunities and engage effectively.
  • Conduct targeted outreach through phone, email, and LinkedIn to generate qualified leads and close deals.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team as the business scales.
  • Navigate complex buying processes, including leading and managing RFP responses, to exceed multi-million-dollar annual sales quotas.

Industry Expertise and Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor by providing in-depth insights into the self-insured employer landscape, regulatory requirements, and the role of benefit consultant-advisors.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, client meetings, and other forums as a subject matter expert in healthcare benefits.
  • Offer market insights and feedback to influence product development and drive innovation.

Competitive Analysis and Strategic Positioning

  • Evaluate market competitors and identify opportunities for differentiation to enhance product offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends, including regulatory changes such as the Consolidated Appropriations Act, to drive recognition of MedeAnalytics as thought leader in space.

Internal Collaboration and Leadership

  • Lead business development and sales efforts to meet SubPop Health brand objectives and revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and development teams to refine go-to-market strategies and launch new solutions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and results within the growing team.

Additional Responsibilities for Building SubPop Brand:

  • Build foundational go-to-market infrastructure, including CRM systems, sales processes, and performance metrics.
  • Act as an individual contributor and executive while developing strategies and building momentum for team expansion.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, start-up environment.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in SaaS-based or service-based technology sales targeting employer-sponsored benefits markets.
  • Proven success in selling to HR leaders and CFOs and brokers/advisors to to them with a deep understanding of healthcare benefits and employee benefits management.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed multi-million-dollar sales quotas and navigate complex sales environments.
  • Experience building and scaling sales and business development teams within an early-stage business setting.

Skills

  • Expertise in self-insured employer dynamics, insurance provider marketplaces, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong consultative sales skills to construct and deliver compelling, tailored solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and CRM platforms.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Client-facing roles with top benefits consulting or brokerage firms (e.g., Aon, Mercer, Gallagher).
  • Client-facing experience with technology-driven healthcare benefits platforms or auditing firms specializing in cost savings and benefits optimization through advanced analytics or data aggregation.
  • Past role(s) as healthcare benefits executive within a self-funded employer.
  • Familiarity with healthcare benefits analytics, regulatory compliance, and auditing.
  • Expertise in relevant regulations such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.

Additional Information:

MedeAnalytics believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $195-230K + Commission Opportunities USD. Please note that actual compensations for all roles may vary within the range or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, relevant work experience, professional achievements/qualifications, skill level, business need, location and will be finalized at the time of offer.
