Role Overview

At MediaAlpha, the Manager, People Operations is a strategic partner and culture champion focused on building an engaged, high-performing, and values-driven organization. This role leads high-impact people initiatives across team member engagement, performance management, learning and development, and HR business partnership.

Key responsibilities include supporting leaders and teams through performance cycles, driving engagement and pulse surveys, coordinating training programs, and executing broader people strategies that enhance the team member experience. The role also assists in planning and delivering company events such as All Hands Weeks and milestone celebrations that foster connection and culture.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, adaptable, and solutions-oriented. The ideal candidate brings a forward-thinking mindset to HR, challenges the status quo, and is comfortable experimenting and iterating in pursuit of better ways to support people and teams. They combine strategic insight with hands-on execution, thrive in a collaborative environment, and are energized by scaling meaningful programs that support organizational health and growth.

 

Responsibilities

HR Business Partnership

  • Act as a consultative partner to leaders, helping them navigate organizational changes, team effectiveness, and team member relations with empathy and sound judgment.
  • Provide thought partnership on org design, role scoping, and workforce planning.
  • Promote MediaAlpha’s culture and values through coaching and development strategies that support both individual and team growth.

Performance Management & Talent Development

  • Manage and continuously improve the full performance review cycle including timeline coordination, system readiness, calibration, and manager enablement.
  • Track key milestones, audit competencies, and refine career paths to ensure clarity and consistency.
  • Support the creation of performance-related training and tools that encourage continuous learning and high standards.

Team Member Engagement & Experience

  • Contribute to the planning and smooth delivery of engagement initiatives such as All Hands Weeks and virtual or in-person milestone events that strengthen connection and culture.
  • Support the administration and analysis of engagement and pulse surveys, partner with leaders on action planning, and ensure outcomes are carried forward.
  • Champion an inclusive, energizing work environment that values feedback, belonging, and innovation.

Learning & Development

  • Collaborate on the design of training content and enablement resources for team members and managers.
  • Coordinate and support execution of learning programs and internal workshops.
  • Help build scalable, self-serve L&D systems including onboarding materials, documentation, and leadership development resources.

People Programs & Strategic Initiatives

  • Maintain and evolve HR documentation in Confluence related to policies, processes, and program updates.
  • Contribute to strategic people initiatives, including goal-setting frameworks, onboarding improvements, and internal communications.
  • Partner with Finance and HR leadership to support compensation cycles and planning processes.

 

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of HR or people operations experience, with exposure to performance management, engagement, and learning programs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively about people and organizational challenges
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to take smart risks and try new approaches to improve the team member experience
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and iterating quickly in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience coaching team members and leaders and partnering across levels and functions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate strategy into action
  • Proficiency with HR tools and systems such as Namely, Workday, Greenhouse, CultureAmp, Lattice, and Confluence
  • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance, with a willingness to rethink how they are applied to fit business goals

Compensation & Benefits

We are excited to offer a competitive base pay range of $90,000 to $140,000 per year for this position, based on experience and qualifications. But that's not all - as a valued member of our team, you will also have access to an array of top-notch benefits, including:
