Role
We are looking for a Media Director in Seoul; our Korea office that reports into the Los Angeles hub. This is one of the most exciting and challenging roles in our organization.
The Media Director will work across business lines for Apple (iPhone, Watch, Apple TV, iPad and Mac / Service / Retail/ ASO) and is ultimately responsible for driving forwards audience behaviors, media opportunities, localization of briefs and ensuring planning and execution follows the agreed strategy across all media (TV, OOH, Digital, Print, Social, Partnerships etc).
The Media Director will need to manage the daily tasks of the team below them, in partnership with the OMD LA team and Apple Korea client leads. As well as collaborate with MAL Seoul Account and Creative team for origination projects.
The Media Director needs to collaborate with creative and media teams to design connections and planning briefs and execute local campaigns that are only running in Korea. The director leads the planning on global briefs in Korea; taking a global brief and creating a Korea-specific comms, measurement and media plan. The role requires knowledge of in-market planning and buying, experience working with data to extract insights and create actionable learnings based on campaign performance.
The Media Director must demonstrate a strong appetite for new technology, emerging media and culture, and understand and embrace the passion that the consumer has for the client’s brand. This individual must have a grasp of the strategic mix of solutions across media and screens including local market differences in behavior, media landscape and consumption.

Who will thrive in this role?
- 14+ years experience with a track record of excellence across media channels and handling big client ambitions.
- Collaborative nature and experience working with clients, agency business units and creative agency partners
- Able to manage relationships with media clients and brand managers
- Experience working closely with creative agencies
- Experience working with multiple agency partners and leading work sessions attended by multiple disciplines
- Ability to create and execute a holistic channel approach to planning
- Strategic thinker, with integrated experience managing both traditional and digital media planners
- Comfort level with data, analytics and measurement
- Ability to develop channel strategies, content strategies and measurement frameworks
- Experience in local market planning and buying in both offline and digital channels
- Excels at media fundamentals and can educate all levels
- Highly collaborative, problem solver, keeps an eye on the bigger picture but willing to get hands dirty and work with activation partners/media buyers to turn strategy into flawless execution
- Is dynamic, can manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
- Experience managing a team and day to day deliverables
- Can foster and grow talent
- Client management, communication and leadership skills are critical to the success of this role
