Senior Music Supervisor

London, England, United Kingdom

TBWA\Media Arts Lab is the bespoke global agency for Apple and only Apple. We think different to create impact for the world’s most iconic brand.

We’re looking for a Senior Music Supervisor to help shape how Media Arts Lab London connects our client with music, artists and culture across Europe, the Middle East and Turkey. This is not a conventional music-supervision role: alongside outstanding musical knowledge and industry relationships, you will identify and develop original artist-led creative opportunities, bringing together music, visual culture, content and technology. You will be a trusted senior partner to artists, management, labels, publishers, production partners, our client and global MAL teams — helping realise ambitious ideas from early conversation through to delivered work. With sharp cultural instincts, a producer’s mindset and a reputation for making things happen, you will help ensure that MAL’s work is not only relevant to culture, but contributes meaningfully to it.

The Work

  • Proactively identify artists, emerging talent, cultural moments, creative collaborators and partnership opportunities that can lead to distinctive work for the brand.
  • Develop original artist-led ideas, campaigns and social-native content opportunities in partnership with MAL creatives, strategists, producers and client stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior, trusted point of contact for artists, artist management, labels, publishers, commissioners, production companies, PR partners and cultural organisations.
  • Facilitate artists’ creative visions while balancing the needs of the artist, client, MAL, production partners, legal teams, budgets and timelines.
  • Lead music and artist-facing work from early creative development through production, approvals, delivery and evaluation.
  • Bring practical expertise in music video, artist content, performance, editorial, social content or branded-content production to help turn ideas into excellent finished assets.
  • Partner closely with integrated producers and external production teams to scope, plan and deliver artist-led work with exceptional care and attention to detail.
  • Provide senior music supervision and music-production counsel where required, including artist recommendations, music strategy, rights, negotiations, approvals and stakeholder management.
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships across the UK, France, Germany and wider European, Middle Eastern and Turkish music ecosystems.
  • Create opportunities through your network and reputation, helping establish MAL as a trusted and creatively valuable partner within the music industry.
  • Share informed, relevant and surprising music and cultural insight with the wider agency, helping teams understand emerging scenes, talent, formats and creative possibilities.
  • Bring a clear point of view on what is next in music and visual culture, and how our client can participate in ways that feel authentic, generous and culturally credible.
  • Represent MAL externally with warmth, discretion and authority across industry events, artist meetings, creative partnerships and cultural conversations.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

  • You are deeply embedded in music and culture, with exceptional taste, real curiosity and a live understanding of artists, scenes and creative communities.
  • You are entrepreneurial by nature: you do not wait for a brief, but spot opportunities, make connections and build ideas that would not otherwise exist.
  • You are as comfortable discussing an artist’s creative ambition as you are navigating production realities, stakeholder needs, budgets and delivery deadlines.
  • You bring a producer’s instinct: able to convene the right people, create momentum, solve problems and move an idea from conversation to execution.
  • You are respected and well-liked across the industry, building relationships with care rather than treating them as transactional.
  • You have the confidence to bring a strong cultural point of view, alongside the humility and empathy to listen closely to artists, partners and colleagues.
  • You are excited by the opportunity to build a broader, more artist-led music function at MAL—not simply step into a conventional supervision role.
  • You are organised, calm and resourceful, able to manage complex, high-profile work without losing sight of the creative opportunity.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Significant experience in music supervision, artist partnerships, artist relations, music-video production, label creative, A&R, artist management, branded content or cultural partnerships.
  • Demonstrable experience working directly with artists, artist management, labels, publishers and production partners on creative projects.
  • Proven track record of originating or shaping artist-led, music-led or culturally-led creative opportunities—not solely responding to existing briefs.
  • Experience delivering music video, artist content, performance content, social-native assets, editorial content or branded entertainment from development through final delivery.
  • Established and active network across artists, managers, labels, publishers, commissioners, directors, production companies and other music-industry decision-makers.
  • Strong understanding of music rights, artist agreements, music licensing, approvals processes and the practical requirements of music production.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects, timelines, budgets and senior stakeholders across agency, client, artist and production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary and emerging music culture in the UK and Europe; knowledge of France, Germany, Turkey, Poland, Saudi Arabia and/or wider Middle Eastern markets is an advantage.
