About The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage collection efforts, identify slow-paying customers, and escalate non-payers to the appropriate teams. They will also handle customer account reconciliations, assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for improvement, and assist in other accounting-related tasks. EliseAI is expanding its in-house Accounting department with the goal of building a world-class team that supports the company’s growth by aiding other business functions and providing visibility into business performance. The Collections/Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a critical role in settling past-due invoices and improving the company’s cash flow. This position will be based at our headquarters in New York City.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by communicating with clients via email, telephone, and mail.
• Send invoices and statements to customers.
• Generate "non-standard" customer invoices for third-party billing portal submissions.
• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
• Maintain up-to-date customer information in the Accounts Receivables CRM.
• Support other finance team members, e.g., posting payments, bookkeeping, preparing bank checks, and ad-hoc projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; major in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in accounting; public accounting experience preferred; high-growth enterprise SaaS experience preferred
• Knowledge of accounting and finance principles, including US GAAP and accounting topics relevant to enterprise SaaS companies
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and the ability to adapt to new accounting software 
• Experience with Salesforce and other enterprise systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Google Suite
• Direct and clear communicator, both written and verbal.  Not afraid to speak up
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - flexible, adaptable, with high attention to detail, willing to get hands dirty, collaborative

Job Compensation Range:

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$60,000, based on experience. EliseAI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes base salary, equity and a comprehensive benefits & perks package. Exact compensation is determined based on a number of factors including experience, skill level, location and qualifications which are assessed during the interview process.
