Data Product Manager, Payments
By joining our Payments product team, you’ll have the opportunity to build and scale one of the fastest-growing payment products in the US. You will collaborate with engineers to manage complex technical models, lead critical product launches cross-company, and impact tens of thousands of small businesses across the US.
Qualifications
- A proven track record of 3+ years in Product Management roles with a strong focus on data or technical products.
- Proficiency in data-related technologies and methodologies, including data visualization, databases, data warehousing solutions, and data modeling.
- You are passionate about solving complex technical issues and understand how great products work behind the scenes.
- You are a self-starter with a bias for action. You can execute complex projects under time and resource constraints and competing priorities.
- “Why” is your keyword. You’re curious about why things happen and constantly challenge how they work.
- You can drive collaboration across multiple disciplines—data, design, finance, ops, engineering, etc. You help give everyone a voice. You’re the conductor, not the lead singer, and softly leading without forced authority is key.
- You’re fluent in English with excellent speaking and writing skills.
Bonus points (one or more)
- Experience PMing Data Products or as a Data Product Manager
- Background as a Data Analyst / BI Developer / Data Engineer / Data Scientist / similar
- Background in Accounting or Finance.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and good familiarity with data science methodologies and their application to real-world business problems (e.g., predictive modeling, A/B testing, etc.)
How you’ll make an impact
- Build, maintain, and keep the integrity of a complex payment network that moves money to thousands of businesses across the US.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement features like customer insights and reporting, reconciliation automation, and other personalization solutions.
- Develop and execute the product roadmap aligned with the company’s goals, leveraging data assets to address market needs and drive innovation.
- Define the business and technical requirements for products and features. Write clear and concise product specs, and other product documentation.
- Collaborate with Data, Ops, Finance & Engineering teams to build, deploy, and scale data-centric products.
- Define and monitor KPIs to assess product performance, measure success, and prioritize features for maximum impact.
About the product department
The Product department helps set the product vision and strategy. We work alongside a diverse team of engineers, designers, and data scientists to envision, build, deliver, and scale Melio’s product to the right market.
We are user experts and constantly analyze their current and future needs. We define the product roadmap, including features and requirements, and then articulate its business rationale.
The team is responsible for providing the ‘what’ and working with the engineering team to build a successful product.
