Member of Staff, Regulatory Product Engineering
Description
We are seeking a Java Developer with a strong passion for data, experience in business intelligence tools, and knowledge of U.S. financial regulations to join our Regulatory Engineering team. As a Java Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and surveillance systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while transforming raw data into actionable insights. This role requires expertise in Java, data processing, BI tools, and financial market surveillance patterns.

What You’ll Do
- Develop surveillance patterns and monitoring systems to detect
market manipulation, Quality of Markets (QoM), and other regulatory - Work with SQL, NoSQL, and cloud-based data storage to integrate
and unify data for reporting, analytics, and compliance monitoring. - Collaborate with tech leads, product management, and
legal/compliance teams to ensure systems meet SEC, FINRA, and
other U.S. regulatory requirements. - Build dashboards and automated reporting solutions for the
Regulatory team and business stakeholders using BI tools (Tableau,
Power BI or Looker). - Optimize data storage and retrieval for structured/unstructured data
to support real time and historical surveillance. - Maintain detailed documentation of data flows, surveillance logic, and
regulatory compliance measures. - Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and workflows to process,
clean, and transform order/trade streams.
Requirements:
- Strong Java (8+) skills with experience in data processing frameworks
(e.g., Apache Kafka, Snowflake, Avro). - Experience with large-scale datasets, including data cleaning,
transformation, and aggregation for compliance reporting. - Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL) and understanding
of database design for regulatory reporting. - Familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for compliance
dashboards and visualizations. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to derive
insights from market data.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Python for data processing and analytics.
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Prior work in trading systems, market surveillance, or financial
compliance technology.

Pay Range: $125,000 to 175,000 USD
