The Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Provides general/primary and preventative care to treat illnesses, order lab tests, conduct physicals, prescribe medication and treatment to an adult population at a psychiatric crisis center that provides short-term in-patient services, and at other outpatient assigned team(s), in accordance with state mandate for advanced practice nurses with prescriptive authority. Educate the people we serve about preventative care and prescribed treatments/ Responsible for managing health problems and coordinating health care for the people we serve: assessment of health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of patient status

SALARY RANGE: $71.93/hr - $72.43/hr

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Functions independently to perform appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests Collaborate with attending clinicians to maximize efficiency of psychiatric services.
- Provide consultation to staff, participate in staff conferences and serve on committees.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
- Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
- Facilitates the patient’s transition within and between health care settings.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Complete medical records and reports, and provide needed referrals to medical services.
- Coordinate care with respect to access to services, lab tests, case management, primary clinician, outreach services, other agencies related to the people we serve.
- Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
- Other related duties as assigned by Program Manager.
EDUCATION: Master of Science in Nursing. Valid Prescriptive Authority in the State of Colorado in good standing.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
- Medical expertise consistent with advanced practice nursing.
- Knowledge of the use of psychotropic and similar drugs.
- Competency in mental health treatment
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively with staff and other agencies.
