Position Summary:
POSITION SUMMARY: Collaborate with Treatment teams, Directors, and Program Manager(s) and people we serve to provide insurance information, peak portal application process and updating our EHR. Coordinate office functions and supervise Insurance Coordinators. Work on special projects assigned by Director of Front Office. Create and oversee strategic priorities for our overall insurance eligibility needs. The Program Manager for the Insurance Eligibility Team manages a team of individuals who pride themselves on helping the people we serve with insurance question, peak portal application and supports treatment teams with insurance questions. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Hire, evaluate, supervise, and assign duties for Front Office Managers.
- Assist as back up to the Insurance Eligibility Team.
- Serve as liaison between Directors, Program Managers and Front Office Managers.
- Organize, compose, and produce memoranda, reports, and other documents for the Directors.
- Collect program data and maintain data base systems; may be required to sort, provide basic analysis, and report data for internal and/or external usage.
- Compose minutes at designated meetings; prepare and distribute as appropriate.
- Coordinate and facilitate team meetings, and training.
- Contribute to the Wellness Culture.
- Assist in new staff orientation, training, and office arrangements when Front Office Managers are absent
- Provide support to staff and persons we serve in emergency situations
- Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing.
- A subject matter expert around insurance eligibility and work consistently with the IS department to maintain updates in Avatar.
- Coordinate and manage various projects related to Revenue Cycle Management and the Insurance Eligibility team.
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on individual site needs.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required and 3-5 years management experience in healthcare insurance or related field. (Health Care experience preferred)
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of three years’ health care insurance experience.
- Familiarity working within a behavioral health environment and with vulnerable populations.
- Human service/medical background required.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge or ability to learn and practice trauma informed principles and practices.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must also develop proficiency in Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Strong organizational skills, knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and word definitions.
- Ability to manage and direct others in a positive and straightforward manner, using effective verbal and written communication.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide management and coaching for Insurance Coordinators on their daily tasks and career development. Complete one-on-one supervision with Insurance Coordinators.
MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copiers, telephone and a variety of other office/clerical equipment.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, the telephone and other office and/or clinical equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Hybrid position. May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
