Job Summary: |
Estate planning is how families protect what they've built and pass it on. It's a core part of the family office Mercer Advisors delivers, and we're rebuilding how we deliver it with AI. We need someone who makes sure that work lands. You'll lead the estate planning squad. You own the product and drive the build, side by side with engineering, design, data, and our development partner. This is a high-visibility initiative with direct executive sponsorship. This role owns four things: the estate planning roadmap across our eleven-step process; the quality and accuracy of the AI behind it; workflow visibility, so everyone can see where a family's plan stands; and the day-to-day relationship with our development partners. You'll work hand in hand with Estate Planning leadership and co-own the business outcomes. You carry real authority over what the squad builds, in what order, and when it's ready to ship. |
Essential Job Functions for this role include: |
Estate Planning Roadmap · Own the roadmap from discovery through delivery, covering the full journey from gathering information to signed documents and ongoing plan updates. · Make the calls on scope, sequencing, and tradeoffs with clarity and speed. If something doesn't earn its place, it waits. · Define success metrics, starting with cycle time from intake to signed documents. · Lead the squad's planning, demos, and retros, and make them worth the calendar time: tight, outcome-focused, and followed through. AI Quality and Trust · Find where AI makes estate planning faster, clearer, and more accurate, and where it doesn't belong. · Decide what to automate next and where strategists, attorneys, and paralegals stay in the loop. · Own the evals. Know how accurate each AI capability is before it reaches anyone's desk. · Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal to protect attorney-client privileged information and sensitive family data. Treat it as a design input from day one. · Use AI to make yourself and the squad faster and sharper. Workflow Visibility · Make estate planning work visible so that strategists, attorneys, paralegals, advisors, and clients can see where each plan stands. · Get the right view to the right role. Not everyone needs every detail. · Build on shared Mercer Advisors platform capabilities instead of standing up one-off estate planning tools. · Make estate planning feel like part of one connected family office. Development Partner · Set the priorities and requirements our development partner builds against. · Own the relationship day to day. Keep delivery on track, surface risks early, and come with a recommendation when something slips. · Hold the line between what's agreed and what's only on a slide.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |
• 5+ years in product management. You've shipped products that moved a business number, and you can tell us which one and how you measured it. • You've used AI to solve a real business problem in production, and you can tell us what broke along the way. • You've shipped in a domain where accuracy and compliance matter. You know a wrong answer has a cost, and you designed for it. • You've led a cross-functional squad (engineering, design, data) and directed an external development partner. • You can turn a complex, multi-step business process into requirements an engineer can build from. • LLM evaluation and human-in-the-loop design: you've built an eval set, run it, and changed the product because of what it told you. • Data fluency: you can define metrics, read dashboards, and make decisions from data. You don't need a data team to produce your own analysis. • Strong communicator: engineers respect your grasp of the craft, and strategists and attorneys trust your judgment on their work. • Bias toward action, without cutting corners on quality. • Comfortable with ambiguity and change inside a live operating business. • Client-obsessed: you start with the needs of clients, advisors, and estate planning professionals and work backward. • Experience in estate planning, legal, trust, or wealth management a plus, not a requirement.
