At Merchants Auto in Hooksett, we’re looking for a Service & Parts Specialist to help keep our shop running efficiently while delivering a great experience for both technicians and customers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, thrives on organization and communication, and has an interest in automotive service operations.

As a Service & Parts Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the service department by coordinating repair flow, dispatching work, communicating with technicians and customers, and helping manage parts and service needs from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch repair orders and coordinate workflow between technicians and service staff
  • Communicate repair updates, timelines, and recommendations to customers
  • Assist with scheduling service appointments and managing incoming work
  • Source, order, receive, and track automotive parts and supplies
  • Maintain accurate repair orders, parts records, and service documentation
  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure parts availability and repair readiness
  • Support inventory organization and vendor communication
  • Help prioritize work to maximize shop efficiency and turnaround times
  • Provide excellent customer service in person and over the phone
  • Assist with vehicle check-in, status updates, and final delivery coordination

Qualifications

  • Previous automotive service advisor, dispatcher, parts, or dealership/shop experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and repair terminology
  • Comfortable using computer systems and service management software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and an acceptable driving record at time of hire.
  • Must continue to keep a satisfactory driving record, as determined by Merchants, and remain eligible to be insured by the company’s vehicle insurance carrier. Employee must cooperate in completing any required authorizations or paperwork for regular motor vehicle checks.

  • Fast-paced automotive service environment
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors as needed
  • Frequent interaction with technicians, vendors, and customers throughout the day
