Engineering Manager - Mobile
Our forebears found wisdom in the rhythm of tides and the migration patterns of birds, reading nature's encyclopedia with practiced eyes, while today's explorers navigate through infinite digital corridors and virtual landscapes that exist only in servers. Now our fingertips dance across surfaces that pulse with invisible electricity—screens that transform abstract data into living, breathing insights. These luminous windows have evolved beyond mere tools: they're archaeologists of information, cartographers of possibility, and architects, building bridges between the chaos of raw data and the clarity of human understanding in our interconnected, algorithm-driven world.
To guide the craftspeople who build these digital bridges, we're seeking a Mobile Engineering Manager who understands that modern business moves at the speed of thumbs and fingertips—for entrepreneurs closing deals from coffee shops, CFOs approving payments from airport lounges, and small business owners managing cash flow between client meetings. We need someone to lead a team of exceptional mobile engineers who can create financial tools that work seamlessly for folks who aren't tethered to their desks but still need to move their businesses and lives forward.
As part of this role, you will:
- Lead an experienced engineering team of 8, consisting of both Android & iOS engineers, including one backend engineer. The team has been building apps for over a decade and has a strong passion for their craft.
- Mentor, retain, and provide feedback to high-performing engineers of all skill levels. You'll contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and calculated risk-taking.
- Work closely with engineering leaders, designers, product leaders, and other cross-functional stakeholders. Including selling ideas across teams, influencing product roadmaps, and creating structured approaches that elevate mobile without creating unnecessary overhead for other engineering teams.
- Serve as the connective tissue between mobile and the broader engineering organization, translating mobile constraints and opportunities into language that resonates with backend, web, and infrastructure teams.
The ideal candidate for the role:
- Has 5+ years of engineering management leading mobile and/or web engineering teams.
- Has the ability to dive deep into technical discussions, with strong expertise in both iOS and Android development.
- Has familiarity with our mobile stack: Kotlin for Android & Swift/RxSwift for iOS.
- Is passionately product-minded and has experience building and shipping new products.
- Excels at developing engineers, creating clear advancement paths, and building teams that can execute independently while staying aligned with broader company goals.
