Senior Account Executive - eCommerce
Building Mercury’s customer base has turned out to be a wild endeavor! With our continued growth in the eCommerce space, we're looking for a seasoned sales professional to join our eCommerce sales team. This role focuses on selling to established, high-value mid-market brands generating millions in annual revenue. You’ll bring the skills of a proven closer while still thriving in the fast-moving, resourceful environment Mercury is known for.
You’ll partner with eCommerce founders to understand their banking and cash flow needs on a deep level. Additionally, you’ll have to understand their operations and have a knowledge set of financial tools and credit products.
What You’ll Do
- Own the full sales cycle from self-sourced pipeline to close, selling to mid-market eCommerce brands generating millions in annual revenue
- Proactively identify opportunities to introduce new products such as our credit card, working capital, and treasury offerings in addition to activating them on products sold in the first 90 days.
- Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline through self-prospecting, outbound campaigns, and strategic networking. Building a personal network and brand is critical and will include attending conferences, events, and relationship building with your clients and prospects.
- Conduct in-depth discovery to uncover strategic, operational, and financial needs, building tailored solutions across Mercury’s banking, credit, and treasury products.
- Drive consultative, value-based sales with decision-makers and C-level stakeholders
- Work closely with underwriters to design compelling capital offers for complex, high-value deals.
- Collaborate with our Relationship Management team to ensure high customer satisfaction and long term retention.
- Continuously research and identify strong eCommerce brands, developing deep understanding of their businesses
- Share customer insights and feedback to help inform and prioritize product development
You should:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of quota-carrying AE experience, with at least 2 years in a closing role selling to mid-market customers
- Proven track record selling to brands/companies doing $10M+ in annual revenue ideally in eCommerce, SaaS, fintech, or related industries
- Experience managing longer, multi-stakeholder sales cycles while maintaining momentum and creating urgency
- Strong discovery, solution selling, and negotiation skills
- Comfort building and managing a healthy, self-sourced pipeline
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Strong product acumen with the ability to translate customer needs into clear, actionable feedback, with much of our product innovation driven by insights from the sales team!
- Familiarity with MEDDICC or similar sales methodologies (preferred but not required)
- Passion for fintech and eCommerce, and curiosity about complex business challenges
- Collaborative mindset and desire to raise the performance of the entire team

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits.
Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:
- US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $169,900 - $191,200
- US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $153,000- $172,100
- Canadian employees (any location): 160,600 - 180,600
