Merge is looking for a driven Strategic Finance Senior Associate to grow into a core analytical partner to our business leaders. At Merge, Strategic Finance is a core operational unit: we don't just report on the business; we provide the analytical framework for major decisions. This is an ideal role for someone coming out of investment banking or investing who is ready to apply their technical foundation to real operating problems - and learn what it actually means to run a business.

The ideal candidate is technically excellent and intellectually hungry. You've spent time in banking and/or at an investment firm building models, evaluating businesses, and producing high-stakes materials under pressure - and now you want to understand what happens on the other side of the table. You're precise, fast, and analytically rigorous. You know how to build a model and tell a story with numbers. What you'll develop here is the operational context: how a SaaS business actually works, what drives ARR and retention, and how financial analysis shapes day-to-day decisions at a high-growth company.

What you will do:

  • Financial Modeling & Analysis: Own and maintain complex models end-to-end - applying the same rigor you built in banking or investing to live operating decisions
  • FP&A Ownership: Manage budgets across multiple departments, drive the rolling forecast, and own the monthly reporting package with clear variance narrative - you'll learn the full operating cadence of a scaling SaaS business
  • SaaS Metrics & Performance: Build and maintain reporting across the full KPI stack with coaching on the operational context behind each metric
  • Board & Investor Support: Independently produce analyses and financial narratives for board materials and investor updates - familiar territory, but now with a seat at the table when decisions get made
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner directly with department leads across the business to drive strategic decision-making, and build the stakeholder and communication skills that distinguish great operators from great analysts

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Professional Tenor: 3–5 years of experience with a foundation in Investment Banking or Investing (PE, Growth Equity, VC, or similar); in-house finance experience is a plus but not required
  • Technical & Analytical Rigor: Expert-level Excel and modeling skills with a "right is right" mentality - you produce work that reaches senior stakeholders with minimal revision
  • Intellectual Curiosity: Genuine excitement to learn how a SaaS business operates - you ask why, not just what, and you're motivated by understanding the business behind the numbers
  • Communication & Drive: Strong written and verbal communication skills and a bias toward action - you follow through, you flag blockers early, and you take ownership of your work
Compensation
  • The cash compensation range for this role is $140,000 - $160,000
  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, and certifications. In addition to cash compensation, all full time employees receive an equity compensation package
Benefits
  • Unlimited PTO + 10 company holidays
  • Pre-Tax commuter benefits
  • 100% covered health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401K Plan
  • $200 one-time home office stipend
  • In office snacks and free dinner when working past 7pm

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
