Role Overview:
Acme Corp is looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Product Manager to join our growing product organization. In this key role, you will own the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for significant areas within our enterprise software suite. You will delve into the complex needs of large businesses, translating market insights and customer requirements into compelling product solutions. This position requires strong B2B software acumen and the ability to navigate the complexities of the enterprise market. You will collaborate extensively with engineering, architecture, design, sales, marketing, and customer success/support teams to deliver high-value, scalable solutions that meet rigorous enterprise standards and solidify Acme Corp's market position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Develop, own, and champion the product vision, multi-year strategy, and detailed roadmap for your assigned enterprise software modules or platform components, ensuring alignment with Acme's overall business strategy.
- Market & Customer Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive intelligence, and customer analysis to identify enterprise needs, market trends, and opportunities. Engage directly with key enterprise customers, prospects, and industry analysts.
- Requirements Definition & Prioritization: Translate business strategy, market analysis, and complex enterprise requirements into clear, actionable product requirements, epics, user stories, and functional specifications. Prioritize the product backlog based on strategic value, customer impact, and business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Execution: Partner closely with engineering, architecture, and design teams through the entire software development lifecycle (using agile methodologies) to ensure solutions are technically sound, scalable, secure, and delivered on time.
- Go-to-Market & Launch: Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional services, and support teams to define and execute successful product launch plans, including positioning, messaging, pricing (input), sales enablement, and customer communication strategies.
- Data-Driven Optimization: Define and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and product metrics to measure success, monitor adoption, and identify areas for improvement and iteration.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary product expert for your domain, effectively communicating progress, decisions, and outcomes to internal stakeholders, executives, and key customers.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, specifically within B2B or Enterprise Software (SaaS experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated success defining, launching, and managing complex software products throughout their lifecycle for enterprise customers.
- Solid understanding of enterprise software development processes and agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
- Strong technical aptitude; comfortable discussing technical architecture, scalability, security considerations, and API strategies with engineering teams.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives and customers.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working directly with enterprise sales teams and participating in sales enablement or support activities.
- Experience with platform strategy, APIs, and third-party integrations in an enterprise context.
- Direct experience in a specific enterprise domain relevant to Acme's (unspecified) market (e.g., CRM, ERP, SCM, Finance, IT Operations).
- Experience working in both large enterprise environments and more agile settings.
- MBA or advanced technical degree.
