As our Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst, you will...
Be a member of MERGE’s Data/Analytics & Omnichannel Strategy team, the Sr. Analyst, Business Intelligence is expected to oversee and drive to completion a wide variety of business intelligence and data visualization projects. The ideal candidate is a recognized thought leader with mastery of Business Intelligence principles and methodologies, with a keen eye and ability to radiate an idea to its full potential.
In this role, you will provide best practice leadership in Business Intelligence Consulting, and help define and evolve our BI Strategy and approach to implementing solutions across a program.
Be Accountable and Responsible
- Establish and maintain technical relationships with vendor partners to promote MERGE expertise and thought leadership.
- Maintain a trusted advisor role in providing technical guidance to clients in achieving business objectives and identifying new opportunities for MERGE.
- Foster an environment for training and growth. Clear roadblocks for the team. Consistently deliver big thinking, break-through ideas, and effective solutions.
- Listen - and take the time to have both the good and the tough conversations to motivate and grow the larger team.
- Contributes and leads with energy and passion and is a positive force, and is recognized as a leader.
- Provide mentorship and tactical direction to staff. Ensures deliverables are client-ready.
- Lead discovery sessions with customers, end-users, technical architects, and application designers to define the data requirements and structure to answer key business questions and solve complex business problems
- Distill functional and technical specifications into Value Roadmaps that communicate the return on investment for a project or program
- Discuss customer data maturity and strategy, and drive adoption of recommended solutions
- Set standards for delivery through engaging data visualizations that tell a compelling story
- Provide strategic oversight to customer relationships through each stage of delivery, offering escalation and troubleshooting support as needed.
These are the qualifications we're looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience and education
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a related field
- 5+ years’ BI / Analytics project or system administration experience
- Demonstrated excellence at presenting complex development topics to both executive and technical personnel
- Expert knowledge of specialized BI and data visualization tools like Domo, Datorama, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlikview, Sisense, etc.
- Expert understanding of Business Intelligence Consulting principles, trends, best practices and approaches, technologies, framework, and tools for creating efficient BI infrastructure and solutions
- Experience with a wide variety of business data (Marketing, Sales, Finance, Operations, etc)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Experience in recognizing business problems and recommending/developing solutions
- Ability to effectively manage customer expectations and project deliverables
- You enjoy working in a data-driven, collaborative, and results-oriented environment
- You have advanced domain knowledge in one or more vertical industries (Health Care Providers, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Restaurants, Media & Entertainment, Financial Institutions)
- You have the ability to demonstrate sustained exceptional performance, innovation, creativity, insight, and good judgment
- You enjoy communicating with people and can navigate ambiguity and complexity with confidence

The salary range for this role is $75,200 - $86,000, based on the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
