MERIT is hiring for an experienced sales driven Regional Sales & Education Executive- Midwest to join our team. In this role you will own a significant geographic region within the US, and will be responsible for building brand awareness in B&M channels through implementing and developing field sales, education, training, and event strategies. The individual who steps into this role must be passionate about driving market share by working in the field at least 90% of the time. This role also involves the development plan of Market Trainers in key markets. The candidate in this role should thrive on solving problems, possess the desire to learn in a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset, and enjoy celebrating wins (both big and small) while driving change and adding value through innovative and creative ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Brand Ambassadorship: Serve as the distinguished emissary of the MERIT brand, orchestrating in-store sales and training endeavors within your designated territory with finesse and precision
  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborate closely with management to craft an impactful store-by-store strategy, devising tailored action plans attuned to individual store imperatives and objectives
  • Innovative Event Execution: Conceptualize and execute captivating in-store events, meticulously aligned with brand guidelines, fostering an immersive brand experience for patrons
  • Relationship Cultivation: Foster robust relationships with store management, galvanizing and motivating in-store teams to maximize engagement and drive sales
  • Negotiation Mastery: Identify and negotiate lucrative opportunities conducive to heightened sales and enhanced in-store visibility, thereby augmenting market penetration and brand resonance
  • Sales Leadership: Lead by example through side-by-side selling in stores within your territory, epitomizing the epitome of sales excellence and customer-centricity
  • Team Development: Assume ownership over the recruitment, training, and scheduling of freelancers, cultivating a high-performing team poised to drive business growth and optimize ROI. Must manage and develop with consistency after hiring
  • Budget Oversight: Exercise judicious oversight over allocated Freelance and T&E budgets, ensuring optimal resource allocation in alignment with strategic imperatives
  • Performance Metrics: Endeavor to achieve targeted territory sales growth within designated budgetary parameters, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to excellence and operational efficacy

Qualifications:

  • Beauty Industry Acumen: Possess a robust track record of 5+ years within the beauty sector, with a minimum of 4 years of prior in-store field sales experience at Sephora, underpinning a nuanced understanding of industry dynamics and consumer preferences
  • Relationship Management: Demonstrate adeptness in cultivating enduring relationships with internal and external stakeholders, characterized by mutual trust, respect, and collaboration
  • Event Planning Prowess: Exhibit prior end-to-end event planning experience, underscored by a history of successful execution and tangible results
  • Strategic Acumen: Display keen strategic acumen, equipped with the foresight to discern key drivers of in-store sales and seamlessly execute strategic plans with precision
  • Project Management Proficiency: Possess strong project management capabilities, endowed with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and allocate resources for optimal outcomes
  • Communication and Negotiation Skills: Communicate with clarity, conviction, and persuasiveness, underpinned by adept negotiation skills conducive to securing favorable outcomes
  • Agility and Adaptability: Thrive within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showcasing agility and adaptability in navigating evolving circumstances and operational exigencies
  • Passion for Beauty: Emanate a genuine passion for the beauty industry, coupled with makeup artistry skills and an unwavering commitment to excellence
  • Logistical Requirements: Must be able to work a Tuesday through Saturday schedule, with occasional full weekends as necessitated by business demands. Additionally, candidates must be able to stand for extended periods, lift boxes, and possess a valid driver's license

MERIT is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package in addition to compensation. The annual salary range for this role is $80,000-85,000 per year, in addition to quarterly bonus potential, stock options, a 401(k) match, health benefits, paid time off and more.
